How to customise your embed player colours
On the Automate plan, you can replace the default Podbite player theme with your own colours. One set of colours applies to all your embed players — every bite, playlist, and episode embed — instantly, without touching any existing embed code.
What you can change
Three values control the player appearance:

Setting your colours
- Go to Manage account → Embeds.
- Click the colour swatch next to Background, Text, or Accent to
open a colour picker, or type a hex value directly (e.g.
#1a1a2e). - The preview below the form updates as you type.
- Click Save. Changes apply to all your existing embed players immediately. There is nothing to re-copy or re-paste.
To reset a field back to the default, click the × next to that field and save.
Things to know
Colours are global. One set of colours applies to all your embed players. Per-player overrides are not supported.
The change is instant. Your saved colours are fetched at player load time, not baked into the iframe URL. Existing embeds update without any code changes on your site.
If your subscription lapses, your embed players revert to the default Podbite theme automatically. Your saved colour settings are preserved and reactivate if you resubscribe.
WCAG contrast. The player does not enforce contrast ratios between your chosen colours. Before publishing, check your background and text combination using a tool like WebAIM's Contrast Checker. WCAG AA requires a ratio of at least 4.5:1 for normal text. If it looks borderline in the preview, it will look borderline on your site.
Troubleshooting
There is no Embeds tab in your account. Embed colour customisation is only available on the Automate plan. The tab does not appear on Promote or Curate. Upgrade from Manage account → Billing.
Colours are not appearing on my embed. Allow a few seconds for the change
to propagate. If the embed is cached in your browser, a hard refresh
(Ctrl+Shift+R / Cmd+Shift+R) will load the current settings.
